Congratulations!
Thank you to all the women who submitted photographs for this year’s calendar and a big round of applause for Anja and Doris for doing such a well organized presentation too. And a special thanks to Jops, she created a very nice calendar!
This year’s calendar will help generate funds for our charity projects. It is a wonderful gift to give friends and family so that they may see the beauty of the Philippines.
Calendars will be on sale soon, be sure to count how many calendars you will need... parents, grandparents, uncle, aunt, friends, colleagues, helpers, neighbors...
ALIG visits three of our charities on a regular basis. We visit Tunasan Drop-in Center every Thursday. We leave the village around 1:00 PM and spend about an hour and a half doing an activity or craft with the children. It takes about 20 minutes to drive to Tunasan.
We also visit Marillac Hills which is a home for girls. We visit every other Monday and our next visit is scheduled for Monday, August 24th. We leave the village around 1:15 PM and spend about an hour and a half doing an activity or craft with the girls. Marillac Hills is located on Zapote Road behind the Caltex station.
Fresh Start Fridays 9-11 am @ South Side Dumpsite School. We provide story-telling, snacks, showers and activities to the around 60 street children ranging from 4-8 yrs. We also do fun and games with some of the other older street children outside. Please wear comfortable clothing you don't mind getting a little wet in.
If you are interested in visiting one of the charities, please contact Juliane or Traci at their mobile numbers. We usually have two vehicles going to both locations so transportation is available.

Marillac Hills presented ALIG with a Certificate of Appreciation Tuesday night. They wanted to say a special THANKS to everyone who volunteered and/or donated funds to their charity over 2010 - 2011. We look forward to strongly supporting them in 2011 - 2012.
Thanks for making someone's day and year very special!
I am continuing to collect pop and beer cans for Little Sisters. The cans are used in a livelihood project making jeepneys, pedicabs and Christmas ornaments. The cans cannot be smashed. If you would like to donate cans, please drop at my home in Alabang Village or bring them to the next General Meeting.
Feel free to order the jeepneys and pedicabs with me, I will make sure Little Sisters gets the order.
I received a note from Sister Margaret asking me to thank all the members for all their donations!
Thank you, Traci West
